When Brooke Summer’s asked me to take on the fashion show at her Studio Soiree, I was thrilled. The venue is the Studios at Overland Crossing on South Delaware Street. This is a charming warehouse with lofty ceilings and a ton of possibility. To create a central focal point for the fashion show, I contacted Tablescapes by Design to use their fabulous black and white damask patterned pipe and drape for an incredible backdrop. A glass table with a silver and crystal vase topped with hot pink flowers hinted to guests that this was going to be fun! The catwalk was done in a T shape to allow for two hot shirtless models in damask bow ties to escort each model to the stage. Since the colors of the drape were black and white, I consulted with the amazing Lilli Black of Bella Calla who was designing the centerpieces and we chose black and white stripes, lacy runners to give an image of garters, platinum linens with black lace for an elegant look. Nicole of Posh Design took our vision and created an amazing space with sexy, sumptuous colors and texture. Lilli took the décor to a new height by suspending black birdcages with clusters of pink roses and feathers from the ceiling and on the tables. Auction tables were arranged with a variety of generous donations from several companies. Winners were announced by Brooke and over $1,000 was raised for Gateway Women’s Shelter. In all, it was a glamorous night.
